The point of land usually centered or to the far left in the live photo at the very back is the beginning of Spanish Banks, Jericho Beach.  Wreck Beach and UBC is around the corner further (assuming the camera is facing the usual direction, sometimes it  pans in different directions).  A great overview of the weather from this perspective.  Use refresh button for new photo every 5 minutes. Camera usually faces in the direction of the sunset (W/S/W in winter, W/N/W in summer).

UBC Arts Webcam

Sometimes slow to upload, but the best camera view of  Wreck Beach, as it is like looking from above the beach sands to what is coming in weather wise.

Jericho Beach

A view taken north from Jericho Beach in Vancouver, updated every 10 minutes during daylight hours.

Harbour View

A view of the whole port of Vancouver.

Downtown Vancouver

A north view of the West End of downtown Vancouver taken from the west side in Kitsilano.

GVRD Webcams

A great selection of many webcams around the lower mainland for all areas, bridges, airport, downtown, outskirts and so on.

Remember, every day is a great day at the beach.  In the summer months June-August on the main beach at trail 6, there is still lot's to do, buy or see even if it is not the best sun tanning day. Just as a note, if it is a cloudy day with sunny periods, chances are, it is beautiful at the beach due to the offshore coastal wind factor.  If it is really windy and blowing in from the west or south, it may be very cold and hard to handle without an umbrella or wind shield.  There have been many times when it was raining in North, West or East Vancouver and yet it was beautiful and sunny at Wreck Beach all day.   Check the UBC Arts Webcam above and you will be looking directly at Wreck Beach weather.

UBC Arts Webcam

This webcam does not always work anymore.  When it does it offers a great close-up view of the beach weather right at the University facing west.
